Goodreads review by Crystal
I love this book, it is fun and easy to read but still smart and witty.
I received this book as a firstread and it was signed by the author. I always like it when they sign the books so I’d like to say a big thank you to the author!
The story follows a few different characters through a number of different countries, which was an approach I really enjoyed. The travel and food descriptions were great in regards to their random detail. It made you feel as though the author had been there himself and was telling the story against a back drop he had personally experienced. The story was easy to read, but still had a great story line and the author obviously did a great deal of research or has a very broad knowledge base.
There were a few things I didn’t care for about the book but it wasn’t much and these things were heavily outweighed by how much I enjoyed the book, as you can see from the five star rating. There were a few places where I found situations were not described in as much detail as I would have liked and then in other areas they were described in far more detail than I expected. There was one little thing that really bugged me but I will not add it here because it might be considered a spoiler and in the overall scheme of the book it’s really inconsequential.
I wasn’t all that thrilled with this book in the first few chapters, but then it started to get better and by the time I was half finished didn’t want to put it down. As for the ending…well you should see for yourself. 😉
